Sam recently started coaching for Northwest High Performance Tennis as a Senior High Performance Coach. Prior to coaching for Northwest High Performance Tennis, Sam was an assistant coach for the University of Portland men's tennis team from 2017 through 2019.
Sam played college tennis at the University of New Mexico. He was named the 2015 Mountain West Conference Scholar Athlete of the Year, which is the highest league honor given out by the Mountain West Conference that spans all sports. He was New Mexico's team captain and played at the #1 singles position where he reached #33 in the ITA national rankings. During his time at New Mexico, Sam participated in the main draws of the ITA All-American, USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships, and qualified for the 2015 NCAA Championships.
Additionally, Sam played professionally at the Futures level from 2017 - 2019 and represented Pakistan in the Davis Cup several times between 2011 and 2016. As a professional, Sam had a career high ATP singles ranking of 1195.
